And I immediately fell in love with the subject; I was able to gain a deeper understanding of who I was and how I became that person. After 30 years of self-study, lots of formal education, and decades of real-life experiences, I have learned to give myself grace and compassion, and more importantly, healthier, happier ways of living. I want to share everything I’ve learned that’s helped me live my most authentic, joy-filled life. HINT: the answer is not having problems or challenges to overcome!
For formal education, I hold a Ph.D. in Educational Psychology from Temple University, along with an M.S. in Clinical and Counseling Psychology and a B.S. in Rehabilitation Psychology, both from the University of Central Missouri. I received my Yoga Teaching Certification from Studio 34 in West Philadelphia in 2019.
Professionally, I have worked for over two decades in higher education with a richly diverse student body. I have helped 1000s of students with personal, career, and academic challenges during my time as a counselor. I later transitioned a tenured faculty role teaching psychology full-time, including courses in abnormal psychology, the science of happiness, adolescent psychology, career exploration, and more. My interest areas include happiness, mental health, trauma, and addictions. I am skilled working with you on improving your mindset and goal attainment.
Originally a Jersey girl, I spent much of my adult life in Philadelphia before shaking life up to move to Maine a few years back. I am a wife to a wonderful husband and mother to many cats. I am vegetarian and living alcohol-free in beautiful, nature-filled Maine.
Currently, I am a mobile studio and offer classes in Auburn, Lewiston, Green, Yarmouth, Maine.
